After continued development throughout 2020, three new hotels in Shenandoah have opened or will be opening in the coming months despite a recent drop in tourism.
Once they open, Shenandoah will have 12 hotels across its city limits of 2.2 square miles.

Developer: Hyatt House Hotel in Shenandoah's Metropark Square more than half complete
Construction on a Hyatt House Hotel in Metropark Square in Shenandoah is proceeding on schedule. According to developer Sam Moon Group, the hotel was 52% completed as of July 21, with the roof finished, curbs set and window installation completed on the first, third, fourth and fifth floors.

Sam Moon Group wants to help you celebrate spring and upcoming warmer weather with a free outdoor yoga class. As part of its monthly event series, Metropark Square is partnering with Yogaworks of the Woodlands and Wylde Meade, a local Celtic band, to bring a free outdoor yoga class and St. Patrick’s themed celebration to its event lawn for “Wear Green, Get Lean” from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. on March 14, 2020.

Shenandoah’s Metropark Square set to showcase shelter dogs at ‘hearts and hounds’ event
Shenandoah’s Metropark Square is hosting a February event that is likely to warm winter hearts with adoptable dogs from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter. The ‘Hearts and Hounds’ free adoption event Feb. 8 features shelter dogs and Valentine’s Day-themed activities.
The event is part of the center’s Metropark Events on the Lawn series with varying themes held the second Saturday of every month.

Dave & Buster’s Shenandoah is ready for opening Monday
Dave & Buster’s is ready for its Monday opening in Shenandoah’s Metropark Square.
“Games, games and more games everywhere,” said Andy Oreskovich, general manager at Dave & Busters in Shenandoah, in describing the new venue. Everything is bright, new and state-of-the-art. The thing that sets this location apart from the others in Houston is that, because it’s the most recent one, it has the latest everything Oreskovich says. “We are the newest in the company so obviously we have the best technology in the company,” he said.

First phase of Metropark Square nears completion; additional restaurant openings planned for spring
Work is progressing in 2020 on Metropark Square, located off of I-45 North in Shenandoah, as new storefronts are completed and opened to the public.
Daniel Moon, vice president of development company Sam Moon Group, said in a phone interview as of Nov. 23, the stores Martinis and Manicures and Urban Air Adventure Park opened, the access road Entertainment Way opened onto David Memorial Drive, and a 1,000-car parking garage was completed. In the first quarter of the year, Metropark Square will add new tenant Dave and Buster’s—an entertainment center—on Jan. 20, followed by Top Sushi, BurgerIM, Black Bear Diner and Aesthetic Smiles Dentistry by the end of March 2020.

Metropark Square kicks off 2020 with new events schedule
Metropark Square, the 69-acre mixed-use development in Shenandoah, is kicking off its monthly event series called Metropark Events on the Lawn. It will feature family oriented public events the second Saturday of each month. The official developer for the mixed-use establishment, Sam Moon Group, designed and initiated Metropark Square — the first of its kind in the city of Shenandoah. It’s over 40,000 square feet and 70-acre’s of land that has become a new entertainment option in Shenandoah.
The first of those events will be a colorful performance prepared by the Houston Lion Kings where traditional Chinese dances will be the main attraction.

Metropark Square Brings Family-Friendly Fun To Shenandoah With New “Metropark Events on the Lawn” Series
Sam Moon Group plans to start the new year with a roar by kicking off “Metropark Events on the Lawn,” Metropark Square’s monthly event series. Beginning in January, anyone can join the mixed-use development on the second Saturday of each month for a free, public event offering fun for the whole family just north of Houston.
Bringing excitement and energy to the development in January, the Houston Lion Kings will perform traditional Chinese dragon and lion dances to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Dave & Buster's plans to bring fun, games, food to Shenandoah in early 2020
A 40,000-square-foot Dave & Buster's is preparing to open Jan. 20 in Shenandoah's Metropark Square, located at 8915 Metropark Drive, bringing more than 200 jobs to the area.
The new location will be the fourth in the Houston area for the restaurant and entertainment franchise and act as one of the anchors for Metropark Square. Shenandoah Mayor Ritch Wheeler said the business coming to the community is an exciting prospect.

Construction begins on 1st hotel at Metropark Square in Shenandoah
Another element in the completion of Metropark Square, the 69-acre mixed-use development in Shenandoah, is underway. The Sam Moon Group, whose officials are developing the space, announced late last week that construction has begun on the area’s first hotel, Hyatt House.
Set to open next November, the five-story hotel is to have almost 150 rooms. Shane Williams, the group’s vice president of construction, said the accommodations are geared toward the business traveler.

Metropark Square celebrates opening
After two years of development, Metropark Square welcomed its first tenant when an AMC Theatre opened March 1.
Work on the 69-acre, mixed-use development project began in April 2016, according to Daniel Moon, vice president of Sam Moon Group, the development company. However, the permit was not approved until September 2018 because of delays caused by flooding from Hurricane Harvey, after which Moon said construction advanced quickly.
